THE DIEFENBUNKER– On the afternoon of June 29th, Coyotes management sent SweatSox Authority Cory Bond a message that it was raining in Barrhaven. It was a simple message, meant to open the lines of communication between managers on a questionable weather day. The main problem here though was as far as the SweatSox knew, we had no game on this day. In fact, we weren’t scheduled to face the Coyotes for another 3 weeks… Right?
After a bit of investigating, we realized that an earlier rainout was once re-scheduled for this day, but there were permit issues so it got pushed back again until August. Crisis averted, there is no game.
It was actually a good thing there was rain in the forecast, otherwise the Coyotes would have shown up at Southgate, only to see a bunch of little leaguers or softballers or frisbee’ers doing whatever it is they do out there.
PROTIP: Never trust email for scheduling purposes, always consult the NCBL Twitter feed.
