{"id":1246,"date":"2015-07-15T17:44:25","date_gmt":"2015-07-15T21:44:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/?p=1246"},"modified":"2025-11-26T19:27:17","modified_gmt":"2025-11-27T00:27:17","slug":"when-i-dip-you-dip-we-dip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/2015\/07\/15\/when-i-dip-you-dip-we-dip\/","title":{"rendered":"When I Dip You Dip We Dip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Depending on who you ask, this past weekend the SweatSox either entered our 2nd or 3rd Nepean Brewers Tournament.\u00a0 The Brewers have erased all trace of the 2014 tournament from the official record, their website, and the\u00a0complimentary program. Baseball historians everywhere are now looking for answers\u00a0on a few key issues re: 2014&#8230; Did our 0-3 record last year count? Did Trepanier\u00a0balk against the Panthers? \u00a0Did OMS lose to the Ponies? \u00a0Did the Shostappa\u00a0drink Starbucks that Saturday morning? \u00a0We want our losses back! \u00a0We earned them fair &amp; square.<\/p>\n<p>While we\u2019re in an inquisitive mood, why were we called the \u201cOttawa\u201d SweatSox?\u00a0 We don\u2019t feel comfortable sharing that kind of personal information with the world. If we really need a location, we choose to\u00a0be good samaritans from the small town of Latham, Massachusetts.<\/p>\n<p>One of the big questions coming in to the tournament was who the SweatSox added to our roster?\u00a0 We knew the Brewers needed help to face us and went down to Tier 3 to pick up Philippe Martin, who has experience beating the SweatSox in tournaments this year.\u00a0 The Bytown Battalion took it a step further and hired Christopher Ramon Hart of the Winchester Sox to play 2B, and spill all of the SweatSox secrets &amp;\u00a0scouting reports to\u00a0give them a strategic advantage.\u00a0 So who did we sign for the weekend to help make things easier for us?\u00a0 Nobody.\u00a0 Our accomplishments and failures are our own.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It&#39;s Saturday at the Nepean Brewers Tourney &#8211; WAKE UP!!!<\/p>\n<p>Brewers\/Sweat Sox start at 815!<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/brewtourn15?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#brewtourn15<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Brewers Tournament (@BrewTournament) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BrewTournament\/status\/619819489144774656?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 11, 2015<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The SweatSox opened the 2015 Brewer Tournament with a Saturday morning matchup against the Nepean Brewers. \u00a0Our hosts wasted no time capitalizing on the inferior pitching and five defensive miscues of the SweatSox, scoring 10 runs over the opening 3 innings.\u00a0 Cory Bond, starting against the team he once threw a no-hitter for, pleaded with his team to settle down then made it a team goal to keep playing \u201cone more inning\u201d, and ultimately \u201cnot get mercy\u2019d\u201d.\u00a0 There were a few hiccups along the way, but the SweatSox succeeded and lost by only 9!<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Brewers 10. hands in the coaching box<\/li>\n<li>John Groves has already been contacted by multiple Tier 1 teams about being a\u00a0Kingston specialist in 2016<\/li>\n<li>Multiple sources within\u00a0the Kingston Ponies management team confirmed that the loss to the SweatSox was the wake up call they needed to win the tournament, and quite possibly the Tier.<\/li>\n<li>Craig Cornell did indeed play 3 games
