{"id":1706,"date":"2016-06-29T19:15:01","date_gmt":"2016-06-29T23:15:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/?p=1706"},"modified":"2016-06-29T19:27:39","modified_gmt":"2016-06-29T23:27:39","slug":"rock-dogs-sweatsox-vs-panthers-ii-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/2016\/06\/29\/rock-dogs-sweatsox-vs-panthers-ii-recap\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cRock Dogs\u201d \u2013 SweatSox vs Panthers II Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Riding an unprecedented two game unbeaten steak in Tier 1, your Stittsville\u00a0SweatSox took on the Nitabeer Panthers last Friday at the Nepean Sportsplex.\u00a0 Making his first start since leading the SweatSox to a historic victory the week before was the leader in the clubhouse on Craig Cornell\u2019s Dorion ballot: Josh Ramage.<\/p>\n<p>Against Panthers starter Allan Martinez, the SweatSox scored twice in the opening frame: a Chris Lidstone single scoring Eric White, and a Kent Johnston fielders choice scoring Chris Lidstone. \u00a0It was\u00a0the 5th straight game the SweatSox scored in the 1st inning, for whatever that&#8217;s worth. \u00a0The Panthers weren\u2019t phased in the least, and took the lead in the 2nd inning after scoring 3 runs on 2 hits and a couple of &#8216;questionable&#8217; errors.<\/p>\n<p>Amazingly, the SweatSox took the lead back in the third all because of my (I, Shaun Keay) bases clearing three-run double (that\u2019s right, double).\u00a0 Those 3RBI\u2019s vaulted me into a tie for the all-time SweatSox RBI lead\u00a0with Cory Bond, who couldn\u2019t do anything about it now that\u2019s he\u2019s on the DL.<\/p>\n<p>After scoring another run in the 4th off Steve Smith (aka the Mariano Rivera of the Panthers), the SweatSox held a\u00a06-3 lead heading into the bottom of the 6th inning, an unforgiving inning for the SweatSox against the Panthers.\u00a0 In the first SweatSox-Panthers matchup, the Panthers scored 10 in the 6th.\u00a0 This time wasn\u2019t as impressive as they <em><strong>only<\/strong><\/em> scored 7 runs, but it was more than enough for Smith to carry\u00a0his team to victory.\u00a0 The SweatSox unbeaten streak ends at U2, we\u2019re now winless in WL2.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">FINAL: Panthers 10.
