Inspired by the thousands of combined hours we\u2019ve spent watching curling this week, the SweatSox have decided to lace up our skates and hit the ice for some bonspiel action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cory Bond, Mark Bond, Ross Hughes, Marc Lett, and Josh Ramage have all locked in (with lock emoji\u2019s) their confirmations to be the inaugural SweatCurlers, with Chris Lidstone patiently waiting for someone to bail so he can get it in too; according to the rules you can curl with 5 but definitely not 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Neither of them has ever curled before, which was the #1 requirement to be a SweatCurler. I, Shaun Keay, have curled all my life, and can draw to any button with my eyes closed while simultaneously chugging a beer, preferably a Go-Ahead Raspberry & Hibiscus Gose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Marc Lett has set up a full day of SweatSox curling next Saturday, March 2nd, starting with a spiel at the Ottawa Curling Club from 1-5, before heading over to the Rideau Curling Club from 5-midnight for the second half the doubleheader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We\u2019re actually on the backup list for spiel #1, and I\u2019m pretty sure we haven\u2019t officially pulled the trigger on spiel #2, so we\u2019re also accepting any challenges out there from other teams who have never curled before. I guess we\u2019d be open to playing Team Homan too if they need a tuneup. Let us know Rachel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SweatCurling is definitely happening this year! Probably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
