ESTADIO SPORTSPLEXICO<\/strong>– Round 2 of the 2019 season series between the SweatSox and Team Cuba took place last night at the Sportsplex.\u00a0\u00a0Round 1 took place on Opening Day, with the SweatSox coming back from a 3-0 deficit to win 13-3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While I, Shaun Keay, was in the process of posting the previous game\u2019s recap<\/a> an hour or so before first pitch, several of the SweatSox were already at the field, having left extra early to avoid running into the Mike Pence motorcade.\u00a0Craig Cornell left the downtown area early to avoid being stuck in traffic, Cory Bond left the airport early to avoid being stuck in traffic, and Jaspreet Sanghra left early to avoid being seen, captured, and deported by the US VP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m on my way to Niagara Falls right now, so I don\u2019t have time to do a complete recap of the game.\u00a0\u00a0Thankfully, Cuba\u2019s scorekeeping app generated one that\u2019ll work just as good as anything I could produce from highway 401.\u00a0\u00a0Here you go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team Cuba Can’t Catch Up To Sweat Sox<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team Cuba watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 15-2 loss to Sweat Sox on Thursday. Sweat Sox scored on a single by Chris Lidston and a passed ball during Marc Lett’s at bat in the first inning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Team Cuba struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Sweat Sox, giving up 15 runs. Sweat Sox got things started in the first inning when Lidston singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Sweat Sox scored four runs in the fifth inning. Sweat Sox’s big inning was driven by singles by Lett and Kent Johnston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Josh Ramage pitched Sweat Sox to victory. He lasted five innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out two and walking zero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raul De Leon took the loss for Team Cuba. He lasted two innings, allowing eight hits and eight runs while striking out three and walking one. Yobani Tejeda, De Leon, Miguel Tissert, Ty Murphy, James Britz, and Rob Archambault each collected one hit to lead Team Cuba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sweat Sox tallied 13 hits. Eric White, Craig Cornell, Johnston, and Lidston all managed multiple hits for Sweat Sox. White led Sweat Sox with three hits in three at bats. Sweat Sox didn’t commit a single error in the field. Mark Bond had the most chances in the field with four.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ASSEMBLE<\/strong>– With a few minutes to spare between the end of the game and having to leave for the bar, we began the process of casting the SweatSox as the Endgame Avengers.\u00a0\u00a0Eric White (Captain America), Cory Bond (Ironman), and Chris Lidstone (Thor) as the Marvel Trinity were the no brainers.\u00a0\u00a0We\u2019ll figure the rest out later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
