Fortunately for you, only one person has the testicular fortitude to go through everything, filter out the nonsense, and break it all down in one convenient location; that person is I, Shaun Keay, and that location is right here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1. A New NCBL Tweet<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Wednesday, the NCBL provided a 2021 update on Twitter and the main webpage.\u00a0 <strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Keay\u2019s Takeaway<\/span><\/strong>: There was way too much negativity in that Tweet for my taste: \u201c<em>if<\/em>\u201d we can start, \u201c<em>hopefully&#8221;<\/em> have a season, an all <em>&#8220;lowercase&#8221;<\/em> hashtag?\u00a0 Let\u2019s be more positive moving forward.\u00a0 We\u2019re going to play, eventually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Update:<br>&#8211; 2021 official season is still pending. Coach Cornell<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Thursday, South Ottawa Little League announced the signing of SweatSox Consultant Craig Cornell as the new Head Coach of their Major Girls program.\u00a0 The NCBL Treasurer has 5 years of coaching experience, managing the SweatSox to a 73-38-3 record between 2004-2008, capped by the 1st Championship in franchise history in 2005.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prince Cornell is looking forward to this new challenge, and already knows what the key will be to a successful season:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSmall ball.&nbsp; That\u2019s where the focus is going to be, and that\u2019s the water we\u2019re going to sink or swim in.&nbsp; If I can get the girls bunting consistently, I don\u2019t see why we can\u2019t run the table.&nbsp; You can\u2019t defend a good bunt.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Asked if he was going to bring in any of the SweatSox as guest coaches:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/IMG_1371.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"680\" height=\"382\" src=\"http:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/IMG_1371.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2658\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/IMG_1371.jpg 680w, https:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/IMG_1371-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Craig&#8217;s already making the right calls. List of No-Replies<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the past couple of years, the NCBL has tightened up everyone\u2019s &#8220;reply-all&#8221; game, but we learned on Saturday that next up in our email etiquette lessons is eliminating the \u201cnon-replies\u201d.\u00a0 Leading up to Sunday&#8217;s 2nd Spring Meeting of 2021, there were 14 teams who didn\u2019t RSVP at least 24 hours before:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Braves<\/li><li>Expos<\/li><li>Coyotes<\/li><li>Lumberjacks<\/li><li>Rockets<\/li><li>Team Cuba<\/li><li>Black Sox<\/li><li>Misfits<\/li><li>Bandits<\/li><li>Bombers<\/li><li>Reapers<\/li><li>Irish<\/li><li>Lynx<\/li><li>Mavericks<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A no-reply is much worse than a reply-all; don\u2019t ghost your Commissioner!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">5. Spring Meeting 2.0 Recap<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Sunday morning, the \u201cbrightest minds\u201d in the NCBL gathered together for exactly 28 minutes of strategic planning for the 2021 season.
