{"id":2767,"date":"2021-07-19T23:53:00","date_gmt":"2021-07-20T03:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/?p=2767"},"modified":"2021-09-07T00:10:48","modified_gmt":"2021-09-07T04:10:48","slug":"the-ron-maslin-playhouse-shortcut-sweatsox-vs-heat-1-0-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/2021\/07\/19\/the-ron-maslin-playhouse-shortcut-sweatsox-vs-heat-1-0-recap\/","title":{"rendered":"The Ron Maslin Playhouse Shortcut | SweatSox vs Heat 1.0 RECAP"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KANATA<\/strong>&#8211; In the first ever matchup between the SweatSox and Winchester Heat, the SweatSox salvaged a 9-9 tie after being down 7 runs in the 5th inning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We actually had a legitimate shot at the win with a potential game winning sac fly in the bottom of the last inning, but the Winchester relay was just a bit quicker than speedster Jaspreet Sanghra was tagging up at 3rd, even if he may have gotten a head start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Josh Ramage got the ball, and made his tier-leading 3rd start of the season against the team from the town he will one day call home.&nbsp; The Arsonist kept the high scoring Heat off the board through the first 2 innings, but Winchester broke through with 9 over the next 3, highlighted by a Jake Byers 3-run homerun off relief pitcher John Groves.&nbsp; After watching all the inherited runners score, yet again, the Hero of Hydration vowed never to leave a game mid-inning ever again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There was a bit of controversy in this one, when our old pal Rob (don\u2019t call him Robyn) Sadler was caught between bases on a fly ball that dropped right in the middle of the infield.\u00a0 The play was eventually declared an infield-fly by the umpires, but not nearly as soon as the \u201cguy who was slide tackled in the Winchester parking lot 5,134 days ago\u201d would\u2019ve preferred, and he let his displeasure be known to all.\u00a0 Fortunately for everyone involved with the potential paperwork, there were no ejections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/IMG_2837.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"828\" height=\"852\" src=\"http:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/IMG_2837.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2795\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/IMG_2837.jpg 828w, https:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/IMG_2837-292x300.jpg 292w, https:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/IMG_2837-768x790.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/IMG_2837-300x309.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 828px) 100vw, 828px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tie was big for the SweatSox, who avoided dropping back under .500 for the 2nd time this season.\u00a0 The tie also ended the Winchester Heat\u2019s 12-game regular season winning streak, dating back to 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next up for the SweatSox is the back-end of our home-and-home series with the Heat this Thursday when we\u2019ll be travelling to Winchester for the first time since July 30, 2015, a 4-1 SweatSox win over the Winchester Sox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">SweatSox 4.
