GLEBE<\/strong>– Why do the Misfits always select Brewer as their home field, when Kinsmen is far superior in every conceivable way!?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the rubber match of the 3-game regular season series, it was Beau\u2019s Boys that triumphed over Dorion\u2019s Dummies 9-3, in a game that felt much more lopsided than the final score would indicate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Misfits scored all 9 of their runs over the first 3 innings, which was more than enough for Kevin Lamarche, ace of the Tier 1 Athletics recently recruited by the Tier 2 Misfits to dominate some Tier 3 bums, to secure his first dub of 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lone bright spot for the SweatSox was the emergence of Ross Hughes as the new SweatSox ace, after 3 near-perfect innings of relief (3IP, 10BF, 0H, 1BB). The SweatSox are looking forward to many more quality innings from Russ T. as the second half of our regular season continues, and if he stays hot maybe even a playoff start or two is in his future.  I mean, we did originally recruit him as a pitcher; better late than never to get going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a couple of reasons, this game was dangerously close to not being played.  It was raining all day yesterday (as Kent Johnston was telling us repeatedly), and the Misfits weren\u2019t sure their grounds-crew of 1 would be able to get the field ready in time.  Interestingly, when we did arrive at the field a group of Little Leaguers were already there working on it, thinking they were getting it ready for their own game.  These kids learned the hard way that permits trump all, and nobody books an ironclad permit like NCBL Commissioner bill b.  Get outta here punks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the game, the SweatSox were treated to a lovely night of dinner & dancing, hosted by the White\u2019s and the Sanghra\u2019s.  Eric wasn\u2019t exactly the greatest host, having left his own \u201cCarrots, Cheesesteaks and Cha-Cha Celebration<\/em>\u201d to return to the field to get a 2nd opinion on an error ruling earlier in the night.  The call on the field stands.  Thanks for doing everything Justine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next up for the SweatSox is our 3rd and final regular season matchup with Team Cuba, tomorrow night at the Sportsplex.\u00a0 Cory Bond is scheduled for his first start of 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
