{"id":3235,"date":"2022-08-09T00:06:33","date_gmt":"2022-08-09T04:06:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/?p=3235"},"modified":"2022-08-09T00:08:56","modified_gmt":"2022-08-09T04:08:56","slug":"choke-poke-sweatsox-vs-heat-2-0-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/2022\/08\/09\/choke-poke-sweatsox-vs-heat-2-0-recap\/","title":{"rendered":"Choke &#038; Poke | SweatSox vs Heat 2.0 RECAP"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KANATA<\/strong>&#8211; On June 19th, the Winchester Heat evened our season series 1-1 after a 10-2 win over the SweatSox.\u00a0 The Heat scored 5 in the 2nd, 4 in the 4th, and 1 more for good measure in the 5th en route to the 8-run victory, but the bigger loss we took was when starting pitcher Dave Rotari\u2019s ankle exploded after a freak collision at the plate.\u00a0 Here\u2019s what I remember from that play:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With runners at 2nd and 3rd and 1-out, the ball was hit to Craig Cornell (3B), who made the out at 1st.\u00a0 I, Shaun Keay (1B), thought I could double up the runner who took off for home on the throw, but I ended up throwing it to the backstop Navarro-style, so that dude was safe.\u00a0 As Drew Clark-Brewin (C) went to get the overthrown ball, the second Heat runner took off for home.\u00a0 Hammer got to the ball, tossed it to Rotari, who made the tag and got the out, but the damage was done.\u00a0 OMR hit the deck, and rolled around in excruciating pain for what seemed like an hour and nine minutes.\u00a0 Sometimes, I can still hear his screams in my head when I&#8217;m lying in bed after a hard days work at the Bunk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Be still and know that I am God.
