{"id":3305,"date":"2022-08-09T17:29:18","date_gmt":"2022-08-09T21:29:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/?p=3305"},"modified":"2022-08-09T17:33:14","modified_gmt":"2022-08-09T21:33:14","slug":"triads-yakuza-and-ombres-sweatsox-vs-winchester-3-0-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/2022\/08\/09\/triads-yakuza-and-ombres-sweatsox-vs-winchester-3-0-recap\/","title":{"rendered":"Triads, Yakuza, and Ombres | SweatSox vs Winchester 3.0 RECAP"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NORTH DUNDAS<\/strong>&#8211; On July 28th, the SweatSox hit the road for our first of two trips to Winchester this year to play the Heat.\u00a0 We put up a good fight for 2 innings, holding a 3-0 lead heading into the 3rd, but for some reason we\u2019ve been giving up triple bogey innings lately, and this game was no different <em>(par 4)<\/em>, so we ended up losing the game 8-4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">SweatSox fall 8-4 to the Winchester Heat, after 1 bad inning does us in again.<br><br>We did however end a 4+ year homerless streak with a Cory Bond solo shot to \u201cdeep\u201d right. Some of the locals believe this wall-scraper may have been the shortest HR in Winchester history.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/FreeRames?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#FreeRames<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/YLjYuo7eRo\">pic.twitter.com\/YLjYuo7eRo<\/a><\/p>&mdash; SweatSox (@SweatSox) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SweatSox\/status\/1552906241890025472?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 29, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Long before the Coronavirus, Covid-19, and Monkeypox, there was the original self isolation sickness: the Winchester Flu; a dangerous illness that can affect anyone scheduled to play at Winchester&#8217;s Morgan Field, the 2nd greatest field in the NCBL.  There is no vaccine, and the only cure is to grow a set; although it never hurts to pound some Ibuprofen and Tums, paired with a nice glass of water, just to be safe.  Symptoms can include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>not wanting to pitch with the short porches in left, center, and especially right<\/li><li>not wanting to bat against the always strong Winchester pitching staff<\/li><li>and of course, diarrhea<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For this game, several SweatSox reported symptoms of the Winchester Flu: Ross Hughes, Mark Bond, Chris Lidstone, Dillon Lowry, Eric White, Drew Clark-Brewin, and Josh Ramage.\u00a0 Actually, Josh swears he was fine, he was just late because he had to pick up his dry-cleaning.\u00a0 Big shoutout to everyone who powered through and made it out there on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4 years ago, on June 17, 2018, Kent Johnston hit a HR off Frank the Tank against the Rockets at Trillium.\u00a0 That was the last HR hit by the SweatSox, until now when Cory Bond took Brayden Cochrane \u201cdeep\u201d in the 2nd inning of this game.\u00a0 We did the math, and don\u2019t believe it\u2019s possible to hit a non inside-the-park HR anywhere in the NCBL any shorter than this one ended up being.\u00a0 It still counts the same though, so good on our reigning Home Run King.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Screenshot-2022-08-09-170313.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"367\" height=\"390\" src=\"http:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Screenshot-2022-08-09-170313.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3308\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Screenshot-2022-08-09-170313.jpg 367w, https:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Screenshot-2022-08-09-170313-282x300.jpg 282w, https:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Screenshot-2022-08-09-170313-300x319.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 367px) 100vw, 367px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the SweatSox woke up the morning of this game, we were stunned to see that our 2018 Rookie of the Year Justin Pidhirny, who was forced to retire after suffering his fourteenth concussion, had been signed by the Tier 1 Pirates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Pirates add: Justin Pidhirny.<br><br>Emergency Spare List adds: Eric Trottier.<br>.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ncbltransactions?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#ncbltransactions<\/a><\/p>&mdash;
