{"id":3320,"date":"2022-08-09T18:17:31","date_gmt":"2022-08-09T22:17:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/?p=3320"},"modified":"2022-08-09T18:18:44","modified_gmt":"2022-08-09T22:18:44","slug":"wet-taint-sweatsox-vs-coyotes-2-0-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sweatsoxbaseball.com\/blog\/2022\/08\/09\/wet-taint-sweatsox-vs-coyotes-2-0-recap\/","title":{"rendered":"Wet Taint | SweatSox vs Coyotes 2.0 RECAP"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LORRY GREENBERG<\/strong>&#8211; On August 2nd, the SweatSox defeated a bunch of guys that were mostly wearing Coyotes jerseys, 14-1 at Southgate.&nbsp; If you looked at the starting lineups cards this was probably the expected outcome: the Coyotes had 9 guys that included 3 spares, and we had 10 of our finest on hand, with a <s>fully<\/s> somewhat <s>healthy<\/s> rested Eric White on the bump.&nbsp; In the days leading up to this game though, things were looking very different for the SweatSox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the past few weeks, the SweatSox have been talking about having a practice.\u00a0 After losing 4 of our last 5, including the last 2, and with a long weekend free of games sitting right in front of us, the time seemed right to finally put one together.\u00a0 Plus, if we didn\u2019t at least try, half the team might have quit in protest.\u00a0 We put the call out and got 4 bites, but 1 of them was Larry + family, so we really had like 20.\u00a0 It turned out that was too many people, so practice ended up falling through, but enough was done to keep the team together.  The SweatSox live to play another day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Final No SweatSox Practice Notes\/Thoughts:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I wouldn\u2019t know until 9:30pm whether or not I could make the 6:30pm practice.<\/li><li>Josh would like to have a chew with Ace.<\/li><li>Beer is implied when you say you\u2019re bringing pizza.<\/li><li>You can never have too many shaggers.<\/li><li>We weren\u2019t down from 15 to 3, we were up to 3 from 1.<\/li><li>Jas was upset there was no practice.&nbsp; It was probably for the best though, the last time we had a practice:<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1pqa5ZoAHeI?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So we had no practice, fine, we weren\u2019t going to get much better anyways, but then there was the issue of who our starting pitcher vs the Coyotes would be.&nbsp; Come gameday afternoon, we were still looking for one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Dave Rotari and Dillion Lowry were both out, so they were out.<\/li><li>Cory Bond was in, but declined on the account of his bum arm.<\/li><li>Josh Ramage was in, but declined on the account of his long weekend sunburn<\/li><li>Mark Bond was in, but declined on the account he had just done some roofing, his kryptonite.<\/li><li>Eric White was in, but was reporting pain in the nerve that branches from the lower back through the hips and buttocks and down each leg, so he was a maybe.<\/li><li>Craig Cornell was ready, willing, and able if necessary.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We ultimately decided to go with White, much to the dismay of our Consultant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>GAME RECAP:<\/strong> We scored 14 runs in 4 innings, and only gave up 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">SweatSox put up a season high 14 runs in a 14-1 win over the Coyotes.<br><br>*Josh Ramage picked up career stolen base #2<br><br>*Kent Johnston got HBP twice (+ HBB once)<br><br>*Cory Bond hit a bases clearing double that would\u2019ve been a slam in Winchester.
