Fastest Man in the NCBL<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Fastest Man is an award given to the most efficient baserunner in the NCBL.\u00a0 Our proprietary equation determines who this is by factoring in the total number of stolen bases, number of times caught stealing or picked off, and of course overall speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Nominees are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Justin Mombourquette (Cubs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Justin McCauley (Red Sox)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eric White (Sweat Sox)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shawn Curran (Bandits)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was a close battle between Tier 3\u2019s Eric White and Tier 4\u2019s Shawn Curran, but Eric was picked off once, and was technically caught stealing that time when he walked back to 2nd thinking there was a foul ball.\u00a0 Turns out that lack of focus cost him more than just that stolen base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>WINNER: Shawn Curran, aka the Fastest Man in the NCBL<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3. The NCBL Murdock<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SweatSox Murdock (soon to be renamed Lowry) is awarded each year to the person that pays their fees last.\u00a0 Naturally, the NCBL Murdock is given to the team that pays their fees last.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Nominees are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Blue Jays<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nepean Brewers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rideau Valley Reapers<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They were 1 day away from being disqualified from the season, which would\u2019ve ended their championship run before it ever really got started.&nbsp; But Scott Easterbrook finally got his shit together and paid the man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>WINNER: Rideau Valley Reapers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><em>*Shoutout to the Red Sox who paid their fees first.&nbsp; If the SweatSox actually paid fees (we know a guy), we\u2019d win that one every year.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>29. Emergency Spare of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2022, the NCBL was introduced to the Emergency Spare List, where teams could call someone up at the last minute to ensure they don\u2019t default a game.&nbsp; This list had many unknowns, a few familiar names, and several future NCBL Hall of Famers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Nominees are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Colin &#8220;CK&#8221; Kargus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alex &#8220;Mr.&#8221; Lipman<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pat Lyons<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before the season, Pat Lyons announced he was stepping away from full-time baseball.&nbsp; It was a sad day for him, the league, and most importantly the sport of baseball.&nbsp; The Tier 1 Pirates were hit the hardest by this news, and it was no coincidence that they finished in last place this year, recording 12 fewer wins (7) than they did in their last full season (19).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fortunately, Pat was able to make it out a few times this year as a spare, and dominated each and every single time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>WINNER: Sir Patrick Lyons<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>30.
