You will Acknowledge me!

And now, in my own words (positively), a breakdown of last night’s SweatSox vs Barons matchup:

BRONSON AVE– In a thrilling showdown at Majestic Brewer Park, the SweatSox delivered a scorching victory over the Barons last night, crushing them 12-2. With this triumph, the SweatSox now boast a stellar overall record of 6-2, leaving their opponents drenched in defeat.

The game truly ignited in the 4th inning when the SweatSox, with two outs and the bases empty, suddenly sparked our offensive prowess and set the field ablaze with an impressive six consecutive runs. It was a fireworks display of hitting that left the Barons gasping for air.

Pitching sensation Eric White once again showcased his brilliance on the mound, hurling a complete game masterpiece. White held the Barons to a measly six hits, magnanimously refusing to issue any walks, and striking out an astonishing 13 batters. With this dominant performance, White’s season record soars to an impeccable 3-0.

Meanwhile, Josh Ramage transformed into an offensive maestro, wielding his bat like a wizard’s wand. Ramage’s batting frenzy was a sight to behold, going a dazzling 4 for 5, including two glorious doubles. Not content with mere contact, he also added two RBIs and gleefully scampered across home plate three times, spreading chaos in the Barons’ defense.

Not to be outshined, Phil Leduc unleashed his own offensive assault, delivering a barrage of hits, tallying three for the night. Meanwhile, Cory Bond emerged as the team’s maestro of RBIs, directing the offense with his masterful bat, accruing three RBIs of his own. The SweatSox lineup was a symphony of destruction.

With Eric White masterfully dominating the gargantuan strike zone, the SweatSox defense had a relatively relaxed evening. However, it’s worth mentioning Andrew Hierlihy, who bravely stepped into the catcher’s role, fulfilling a lifelong dream to play the position at least once before he drops. Despite occasional miscommunication with the pitcher, who seemed to favour his own instincts over the signs, Hierlihy survived the challenge, proving that dreams do come true, even in the NCBL.

In an unprecedented move, the SweatSox broke tradition during the Après Baseball Hyjinx by awarding not one, not two, but three game balls. Eric White, Josh Ramage, and Trevor Williams each received a special commemorative baseball, unearthed from the depths of Cory Bond’s enigmatic ball bag. White earned his place in history with career strikeout number 600, while Williams celebrated his career hit number 300. As for Ramage, his bat marked the occasion with career hit number 150. Congratulations to these exceptional players for etching their names in NCBL lore.

Last night’s game was an electric display of skill, grit, and pure SweatSox dominance. As the team basks in the glory of their resounding victory, the Barons are left to ponder their defeat and wonder if they’ll ever recover from being scorched by the SweatSox inferno.

Close enough…

Eric strikes out 13 putting him over 600 for his career, “our” Josh smacks 4 hits putting him over 150, and Trevor got 2 hits putting him at exactly 300. In a stunning display of absent-mindedness, Bond managed to leave the physical trophy of his previous triumphs languishing in the solitude of his humble abode. But wait, there’s more! Not content with merely misplacing precious hardware, Bond treated the fans to a double dose of dismay by striking out twice looking! Truly, a master of letting the perfect pitch pass him by. One can only marvel at the depths of his commitment to excellence in the art of messing up. Bravo, Cory, bravo.

On a more positive note, our fearless leader did knock in the game winning run on a 4th inning double to deep right.
