You think you know me?  On this day, I see clearly, everything has come to life. A bitter place, and a broken dream, and we’ll leave it all behind. ACKNOWLEDGE ME!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now, in my own words, a breakdown of last night\u2019s SweatSox vs Barons match-up:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KINSMEN<\/strong>– Last night, for the 3rd time this season, the Stittsville SweatSox and Bytown Barons faced off in NCBL action.  We could yadda yadda through the first 6 innings, but basically the SweatSox scored 2 runs in the 1st on RBI singles from Trevor Williams and Mike Pignat.  The Barons scored 4 runs over the next 5 innings, taking a 4-2 lead into the bottom of the 7th inning, setting the stage for a most improbable finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larry Pawelek led the inning off with a walk, and then in a brilliant managerial move by SweatSox Authority Cory Bond, he was removed from the game for the slightly quicker Jaspreet Sanghra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marc Lett was up next and struck out swinging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I, Shaun Keay, was then supposed to be up, but was told my services in this game were no longer required. Kent Johnston, who was half asleep on the bench, got the call, and drew a walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phil Leduc was up next, and he too drew a walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eric White stepped into the batter’s box with the bases juiced, and watched as back to back wild pitches tied the game, before also drawing a walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trevor Williams had a chance to be a hero, but grounded into a fielder\u2019s choice that had Phil Leduc thrown out at home plate.  Phil says he was in there, and tried to get the call sent to New York for review, but nobody answered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With 2-outs, Nick Henderson got his shot to win it, but flew out to the 2nd baseman to end the game in a tie.<\/em> That is what we would\u2019ve written if what should\u2019ve happened, actually happened\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In reality, the Barons 2nd baseman ended up dropping the easy can of corn, allowing Eric White to score the game winning run from 3rd.  SweatSox win!  Perhaps the Barons weren\u2019t used to playing night games either, or maybe it had something to do with that weird light on Hazeldean that sometimes messes with the right side of the infield, but either way, we\u2019re not giving that one back.  SweatSox 5 – Barons 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shoutout to Eric White, who not only scored the game winning run, but also picked up the win, throwing the final inning and two thirds, recording all 5 outs by way of strikeout.  Josh Ramage picked up the no-decision, throwing the first 5 and a third, giving up 9 hits, 2 earned, with 3 walks and 3 HBP\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SweatSox are back at it next week, when we take on the Lumberjacks at Heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SweatSox score 3 runs on 0 hits in the bottom of the 7th to walk off the @BytownBarons<\/a> 5-4.
