Padres 8. Final.

Offensive shoutouts go to Eric White, who led the game off with his first triple of the season, and to Cory Bond, who led the team in runs scored (2) for the first time in years.

On the bump, our Hero of Hydration Josh Ramage threw 3 innings of 7-hit ball, giving up just 3 earned with 3 strikeouts (and a possible career high 5 walks), but ended the game with a bigtime NO DECISION thanks to the relief effort of Eric White, who faced just 10 batters over his 3 innings of work.

Defensively, I, Shaun Keay, got hurt in the first playing first, and was forced to remove myself from the game. Doctors say I reaggravated an old tennis elbow injury; this better not affect my game, because if I can’t play tennis, I have no reason to live! At least I’ll always have grace.

Other injuries from last night include Kent Johnston (diving catch related pain), Larry Pawelek (back), Eric White (groin), Josh Ramage (mound visit related rage), and Trevor Williams (ego re: shootout fiasco).

NEXT UP for the SweatSox is a matchup with the Bytown Barons tomorrow night at Brewer.

Close enough…

SweatSox get on base a bunch vs the Padres: 15 walks + 8 hits, but we couldn’t get the clutch hits to put it away, stranding 16 runners over 6 innings ?.

SweatSox 8.
