Evolution is a mystery.\u00a0 Full of change that no one sees.\u00a0 Clock makes a fool of history.\u00a0 Yesterday’s so long ago.\u00a0 Don’t agree with what I know.\u00a0 Tomorrow’s got no place for me.\u00a0 I see the line in the sand.\u00a0 Time to find out who I am.\u00a0 Would you like to see where I stand?\u00a0 Evolution.\u00a0 Evolution. ACKNOWLEDGE ME!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now, in my own words, a breakdown of last night\u2019s SweatSox vs Crusaders match-up:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHERE ELSE-<\/strong> Our playoff series against the Barons starts in 3 days, but before we can focus on that, we first need to get through 2 \u201cmeaningless\u201d games against the Tier 4 bound Crusaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal for these two games set forth by our great Authority Cory Bond was simple: No unnecessary risks (aka don\u2019t get hurt).  So naturally, our fearless leader decided to roll the dice and start Eric White.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This move backfired almost immediately when the Crusaders jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.  White pitched the first three innings before finally getting the hook with the SweatSox up 12-2, but the damage was done, White tweaked his elbow while facing the final batter of his final inning.  We don\u2019t yet know what this means for his playoff availability, or our playoff chances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SweatSox offense was rolling in this one, putting up a season high 16 runs in just 4 innings of at bats.\u00a0 Eric the batter helped Eric the pitcher secure the win, leading the team with 3 hits, 3 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in.\u00a0 Mike Pignat, Larry Pawelek, Trevor Williams, and Craig Cornell each chipped in with 2 hits each.\u00a0 Nick Henderson got his steps in, circling the bases and scoring 3 times.\u00a0 Cory Bond was the lone SweatSox strikeout victim, tying Phil Leduc for the team lead at 14 apiece.\u00a0 And I, Shaun Keay, got hit by 2 pitches in my 2 plate appearances.\u00a0 They better not hit me again tonight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of HBP’s, shout-out to Dave Rotari, who made his first plate appearance of the year last night. The bases were loaded, the pressure was on, and he got HBP, picking up an RBI in the process. Way to take one for the team!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SweatSox 16. Crusaders 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEXT UP for the SweatSox is a rematch against the Crusaders later tonight at the Sportsplex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SweatSox clinch 4th place in the Tier after a 16-4 win over the Crusaders.
