The NCBL’s Fall Ball League is entering its 5th season, with a few SweatSox related changes. Firstly, while it was just a rumour for most of the season, it was officially announced just about a month ago that our own Authority: Cory Bond, has taken over as Fall Ball Commissioner, succeeding Joe Beelen after a 4 year reign.
Over the last several weeks, recruiting for Fall Ball players was in full swing, culminating with the Fall Ball Draft which took place last night. The Braumeisters had the most players from their team sign up (5), while the SweatSox (4) were tied with the Mavericks (4) for 2nd place. Cory Bond, Chris Lidstone, Armando Navarro, and Mark Stinson will be representing the Sox this fall, with several SweatSox available for sparing duties.
Unfortunately, they won’t all be playing together though. While Cory managed to draft Lidstone and Navarro to his Ottawa-West Crusaders team, Mark Stinson was sniped early in the 2nd round to the Lawrence Pawelek led Aylmer Pirates.
