Moments ago, a portion of the 2014 NCBL schedule was released. As a “reward?” for winning the 2013 Tier 2 championship, the SweatSox will open the season on the road in Winchester vs Winchester on Thursday, May 15th.
Here’s what we have so far, 12.5% of our schedule:
While not yet confirmed, it is believed that we will be travelling to Cornwall on Sunday, June 8th for a doubleheader (1pm & 3:30pm) vs Cornwall.
We also learned today that there will not be any official outdoor practice times for NCBL teams this year, which is very disappointing for a team like the SweatSox, who actually stay off the fields while they are closed. This in turn means the exhibition games we had planned against the Dukes, Brewers, Panthers, Athletics, Braumeisters, Outlaws, Vampiros, Rockets, Sharks, Ponies, Red Sox, Lynx, Mavericks, and Black Sox are all cancelled. Maybe next year.
