With opening day just 2 months away, the SweatSox like many other teams, are starting to put the roster pieces together for the 2015 NCBL season. These decisions that can either be extremely difficult, or incredibly easy. Earlier this week, we made a very easy one, to CUT Eric White.
In his 2 seasons with the SweatSox, THC had 37 hits (.322) and 40 stolen bases in 42 games. On the mound, The Janitor threw 90+ innings, picking up 8 wins and 4 saves, not including his biggest win of all in: the “Grand Slam” game. In his rookie season on the SweatSox, White won several SweatSox awards including the Doug Dorion Memorial Trophy (MVP), the Andy Brothers Offensive Player of the Year, and the Lee Shields Pitcher of the Year. He also won some NCBL hardware during his stay on the SweatSox: the Blair Mackenzie Trophy (Tier 2 MVP).
It’s because of all that and so much more that the SweatSox are pleased to announce that we’ve re-signed Eric White to a contract extension. In other words, we’ve Committed to Utilizing the Talents of: Eric White for at least another season.
*Note to NCBL Head Umpire Jean Lazure: Eric has NOT been released from the SweatSox; he is still on the SweatSox. So please don’t call our manager at 7am looking for more information. If you must, at least wait until he’s up, which is usually at like noon.
