Last night, the rested SweatSox returned to action after a week off to face the Cardinals, who had just come off an extra inning 6-5 win where they only dressed 8 players the night before – a tribute to their fine leadership.
The SweatSox struck early & often, batting around the order in each of the first two innings, scoring 7 times for starter Cory Bond. GLE once again pitched 4 innings before turning it over to the bullpen, his only true blemish a 4th inning 514-foot HR to straight away center field. Eric White may have been able to track it down if not for that fence thingy surrounding the field.
The Cardinals got a couple more runs in the 5th to make it a 2 run game, but in the bottom the SweatSox batted around again, scoring 8 runs capped by a walkoff HBP from the living legend Marc Lett. For the first time since the 2005 season, the SweatSox are 3-0.

A&W Honourable Mentions go out to:
- Josh Ramage – 3RBI

- Armando Navarro – 2H, 3R, 3SB
- Andrew Elias – 2 hits in his first game since the Grand Slam Championship game.
A&W Finalists:

Broment of the Day: Marc Lett and Craig Cornell refuse to partake in an OM Hunger Games for the A&W. Instead, together they awarded it to GLE for his 2nd win of the season, and still remain friends forever.
Final SweatSox vs Cardinals Notes/Thoughts:
- It’s no secret that I, Shaun Keay, run the SweatSox website & Twitter account.
- The Ironman streak was nearly ended by a Tier 4 foul ball
- No bullpen can contain Mark Stinson.
- If a lefty steps off the mound with his left foot, it’s not a balk.
- OMS is always right.
- The game was momentarily delayed when a familiar yellow truck was watching the game from the parking lot with their lights on
- Not even Pat Lyons can be in the on deck circle without a helmet.
- Craig Cornell left the City owned park well before it closed at 11:00pm.
- Josh Ramage was announced as the 2015 winner of The Murdock
- Mark Bond is training to be a Level 1 vegan.
- Bubblegum & dick – it tastes delicious.
- Armando Navarro keeps half-napkins in his car.
- Mrs. Eric is quickly gaining on MinderStone for the 2015 SuperFan title.
- Eric White won the PizzaOff.
- Mrs. Eric was double-ridden for the first time.
- The RIP: Geoffrey Magnus story got more views in 1 day than many of our stories do in a lifetime (which is a lot).
Next up for the SweatSox is a road trip to Winchester in a battle of the undefeateds later tonight. Either Ross Hughes or Mark Dorrington will get the nod.
