I’m an ass man. Yeah I’m an ass man. I love to love ’em. I love to kick ’em. I love to shove ’em. I love to stick ’em. Love to flaunt ’em. I love to watch ’em. I love to pick ’em. And I’m gonna kick ’em. Cause I’m an Ass Man. ACKNOWLEDGE ME!
And now, in my own words, a breakdown of last night’s SweatSox vs Lumberjacks match-up:
ORLEANS– In a showdown reminiscent of a clash between titans, the SweatSox and the Lumberjacks squared off last night at Heritage Park for a baseball extravaganza that had fans on the edge of their seats.
The SweatSox wasted no time making their mark, seizing an early lead in the top of the first inning courtesy of Steve Brown’s clutch RBI single, ushering in Eric White who showcased his base-running prowess with a pair of stolen bases. However, the Lumberjacks weren’t about to let their opponents steal the spotlight for long, as they stormed back with a commanding nine-run surge over the following six innings, ultimately clinching a resounding 9-3 triumph.
The game took an unexpected turn for the SweatSox when starting pitcher Dave Rotari was forced to make an early exit in the 4th inning, having been struck by a blistering comebacker off the bat of Justin Raymond. Stepping on to the mound in relief, Larry Pawelek displayed resilience, conceding just a solitary earned run over the remaining two and two-thirds innings.
Despite the uphill battle, the SweatSox rallied behind standout performances from Jaspreet Sanghra and Nick Henderson, who each notched crucial RBI’s. Special mention goes to Josh Ramage, whose discerning eye at the plate earned the lone Sox walk of the game. However, as punishment for not swinging the bat, Josh was promptly replaced by the fleet-footed Cory Bond as a pinch-runner.
With sights set on redemption, the SweatSox gear up for their next challenge against the Rockets at Trillium tomorrow, eager to rewrite the narrative and reignite their winning streak.
Close enough…
