“Schauwn Key” – A Shaun Keay Pronunciation Guide

Welcome to Day 9 of the SweatSox 14 Days of SweatMas SweatSite Extravaganza.  Today, we’re closing the books on one of the biggest unsolved mystery in the NCBL: How you’re supposed to pronounce my last name.

If given the choice, I’d rather people spell my full name incorrectly but say it properly.  Nobody has ever had a problem saying my first name: Shaun; no matter how you might spell it, it always sounds the same.  FUN FACT: just about every member of the SweatSox spells Shaun differently:

My middle name is Robert, spelled and pronounced the same as the Robert in: Robert Hansen, Robert Berdella, Robert Lee Yates, Robert Shulman, and Robert Ben Rhoades.  I think I was named after my father though.

My last name is always what trips people up.  For the final time, my family name is Keay, pronounced K, not Key.

Final I, Shaun Keay, Notes/Thoughts:

  • I live in Stittsville.
  • I drive a Mazda.
  • I like beer.
  • I went to Carleton University, majoring in Engineering with a minor in Web Design.
  • My occupation is classified.
  • My passport needs to be renewed.
